We Made it !!

This is Max ! After a long and tiring 14 hours of travel we have finally made it to Athens , Greece ! I'll start out with details from the minute we boarded the flight. We got on and there was absolutely no delay at all ! We got in the air. I watched lots of movies , they served dinner, I attempted to get some sleep but I don't think I did.  Before we knew it we were landing in Amsterdam ! We all deplaned there and there was a big confusion. We were told that we needed to clear customs and immigration into the EU in Amsterdam and our head leader Linda thought that we had to go through customs for the people whose final destination was Amsterdam ... It turned out we didn't and eventually we figured out that we had to go to our gate area and there would be immigration there, so that worked out. Then we got through and could walk around the entire European terminal on our own . It was 10:20 when we got to go but we had to be back at 11:15 to start boarding and Linda said we would lose free time tomorrow in Athens if we were late.  Several of my friends and I were walking around and I looked at my watch and it said 11:12 we started sprinting through the terminal to make it back to the terminal.  It was a mile to our gate ! Guess I did get some running in today ! We made it just in time and got on our KLM flight to Athens , Greece . KLM had great service ! A meal service , snack service , beverage service , and desert ! For a 2 hour and 50 minute flight.  Before I knew it we were descending into Athens ! Athens is Amazing ! The hotel we are staying at is in the center of Athens and is in a great area.  To warp it up we got free wifi and a balcony ! Wel,l it's time to go eat dinner ! Will post again tomorrow !

I received a text from Max AMS at 3:03 am. In the event that you are unaware, AMS is the airport code for Amsterdam. No text from Athens, but People to People sent an email at 9:35 am that the flight had landed safely in Athens. The local time there when they landed was 4:17 pm. All is well

One More Day !

This is Max. I can't believe that at this time tomorrow I will be on my way to Athens , Greece. I have done absolutely nothing today different than get ready for the trip ( part of that is I didn't start packing until today , bad choice on my part).  All I have done today is pack , pack , pack ,with a few trips to the store to buy things including laundry soap. It just turnes out that none of the hotels I  am staying at have laundry service so all the laundry I want to get done for the next 19 days will have to be done in a sink ! Isn't that just wonderful ? I still have lots of packing to do and one more trip to the store to make. I just remembered that we need to wear water shoes while swimming at the beaches in Crete. Apparently there are lots of sea urchins.   It is about time I sign off and finish the packing I have left to do .

4 days !!

Yes, Max has four more days to go until he leaves his family (his mom !) and heads for his summer adventure in Greece and Italy.  He isn't kidding when he says he has a lot to get situated before he goes.  We handled toiletries yesterday, today we set up the blog, the phone plan, the banking and bought Euros (thanks Dad).  We also realized that Max has zero contact lenses to pack for his trip, so we scheduled an eye exam for tomorrow. He must wear kacky pants to travel in.  We realized today the ones he has are about four inches too short.  That isn't even close to an exaggeration, so we will be hitting J Crew and Banana Republic looking for kacky pants to fit his long, lean legs. We do, indeed, have a lot to get situated.  I couldn't have said it better myself !  Getting situated will keep Max's mom from worrying and getting nervous, so getting situated is a good thing for tomorrow.

4 more days !

4 more days to go ! Yes, that's right, only 4 more day then I am off to Greece and Italy ! There is so much going through my mind right now ! I have so much to get situated before I leave ... Thanks for following me !
